Kirton in Lindsey’s History is up in The Cloud!

Have you tried The Kirton in Lindsey Time Travellers Trail yet?

It works from a smartphone and, using GPS, guides you around the town to visit 21 Points of Interest (POI) to find out about the stories behind these historic sites. Each POI has a spoken narrative, words and pictures and some have ‘then and now’ sliders for instant comparison.

The Trail starts in the Market Place where there is a Start Board on the Kirton Fish Bar railings.  Scanning a QR code (or typing in the web address) takes you to the website where you simply follow the instructions. The Trail can be done all at once (about 1 hour) or piecemeal, as suits, and goes down and back up the hill.

It aims to appeal to all ages and provide an easy way to find out more about Kirton’s long and interesting history. It is simple to use, there is no app to download and it is free.

Not everyone will be in a position to walk the Trail so the good news is that it can be done from your sofa (or anywhere in the World)! A separate menu allows you to select the POIs separately and each one has the same information as the Trail with an added video to show you the building in question.
